Hung Vuong Technology Vocational School has known as Vocational Center District 5, the school was founded in 1985. In 2002, Our school was upgraded to Hung Vuong Technology School by Decision No. 1662/QD-UB 18/04/2002 of People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

By 2007, the school was become Hung Vuong Technology Vocational High School by Decision No. 2470/QD-UBND dated 06/05/2007 of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Since 2010, the School has been coping with the changes of industrial structure and social, economic situation by internally combining various trainings and externally integrating vocational training resources in enterprises. Through the overall-planned regional vocational training capacity expanded as well.

The employment services center of the school have cooperated more 380 enterprises to support students finding job and their field trips.

From 1998 to now, the school is the benefit and improving efficient many projects of many organizations, international programs such as: RAP, EU, Swisscontact, Unilever Viet Nam, Honda Viet Nam, etc

One of the fifteen Vocational Colleges and Vocational Schools of National meet to the requirement of Qua`lity Standards  by the General Department of Vocational Training Organization in December 2008

From 2012 to 2020, Hung Vuong Technology is one of 40 National Key Vocational College are invested by Viet Nam Government
